We are a **Volunteer Fire Department.**

**What does that mean?**

It means we are your neighbors, local business owners, parents, friends, and community members who respond when the call comes in.

Unlike a full-time career department, **our station is not staffed 24 hours a day.** When an emergency call comes in and we are toned out, our volunteers leave their homes, jobs, dinners, family time, and daily lives to respond and help when our community needs us most.

Every call is answered by people who choose to serve.

That service goes far beyond emergency response.

Our members help with **training, station upkeep, fundraising, grants, community events, prevention programs, education, administration, and supporting one another**—all while balancing work and family life.

We have a new annual tradition which we invite all to attend. Memorial Day Flag Raising.

June 12 & 13, 2026 will be our 26th annual BBQ Cook-off and Auction. It is held yearly usually the first or second weekend of June.

Unfortunately, our famous Oyster Supper has not been held for a few years due to the availability of oysters and the cost. Don't count us out, you just never know when we may bring it back.

We have held Fish & Shrimp Fry's, Bulls on Bolivar and our department is available to rent for your own event.
